We Load Everything
Local & Owner-Operated
Owner-operated. William is personally on every job from start to finish.

Plenty of pianos haven’t been played in years. The kids grew up, nobody kept up the tuning, and now it’s the heaviest thing in the house, parked between you and a sale, a move or a remodel. Piano removal is just what it sounds like: we get uprights, spinets and baby grands out of living rooms, dens and basements, load them, and haul them off. Two of us, moving equipment, and no rush on the steps. The price is confirmed before anybody puts a hand on it.

What's Included

  • Two-person crew with moving equipment
  • Carry-out over porch steps, landings and basement stairs
  • Bench, lamp and sheet music hauled along if you want them gone
  • Price confirmed before we lift
  • Sweep-up of the spot where it stood
  • Donation drop-off if the piano is still reusable

What We Take

  • Upright pianos
  • Spinet and console pianos
  • Baby grand pianos
  • Piano benches and stools
  • Electric keyboards and stands

How the job goes

  1. Step 1
Photos of the piano and the path

Send a picture of the piano and a few of the way out: hallway, front steps, any turn on the stairs.

  2. Step 2
    We plan the carry

Type of piano and the route decide how the day goes, so we sort that out before we show up.

  3. Step 3
    Price confirmed on site

William checks the setup against the photos and confirms the price before anything moves.

  4. Step 4
Slow and steady out the door

Two of us, moving equipment, one step at a time. Then it’s loaded and gone.

  5. Step 5
    Sweep where it stood

Pianos hide decades of dust bunnies. We sweep them up too.

Uprights, spinets and baby grands

Spinets are the short ones, the kind that sat in a lot of dens for a generation. Uprights stand taller and are much heavier, and they’re top-heavy, so they’re not something to rock onto a hand truck by yourself. Baby grands are a different animal: wide, awkward and fussy about doorways.

Tell us which kind you have when you text photos. It changes how we plan the carry, and it’s the first thing William will ask.

What matters more than the piano: the path out

Weight is only half of it. The other half is the route: brick porch steps, a split-level landing, a basement staircase with a turn at the bottom, a storm door that won’t stay open. A photo of the path tells us more than a photo of the piano does.

A little prep on your end makes the day go smoother.

  • Clear the top of the piano: photos, candles, the metronome
  • Pull up throw rugs and move the coffee table out of the lane
  • Prop or remove the storm door
  • Check inside the bench; people find old photos and birthday cards in there

Why the piano is finally going

Usually something forces the issue. The house is being sold and the stager wants the living room open. A parent is moving into a smaller place with no room for it. Somebody finally wants the basement for a home gym, and the old upright is standing right where the treadmill goes. Whatever the reason, the job is the same, and you don’t need to have it emptied, tuned or wrapped for us.

Is the old piano worth anything?

Maybe. If you suspect it is, have a piano technician or dealer take a look before you book a removal. We’re haulers, not appraisers. If it’s playable and someone will take it, a donation drop-off beats disposal. If not, it goes for responsible disposal at a licensed transfer station.
