Owner-operated. William is personally on every job from start to finish.

Concrete is the one thing nobody wants to move twice. A busted walkway, the pad an old shed sat on, front steps pulling away from the house, a slab where a garage used to be: all of it is heavy, awkward and useless once it cracks. We do concrete removal for homeowners and landlords across York County. We break it into pieces, load it by hand, haul it off, and sweep the spot. You don't need a truck, a dumpster or a strong back. You need photos and a phone.

Why concrete is so hard to get rid of yourself

York County's Small Load Drop-Off is where residents take a lot of household odds and ends, but concrete is on its not-accepted list. So are brick, cement, macadam, stone, sand and soil.[1]

Curbside doesn't work either. One township hauler's rules say construction debris won't be collected curbside, and large items too heavy for two people to lift won't be accepted.[2]

Put those together and a pile of broken concrete in the backyard tends to stay there for years. That's usually when we get the call.

What makes one concrete job bigger than another

We price on what's actually there, and the number is set before we start. The pricing page explains the general approach.

  • Thickness: a 4-inch walk breaks a lot easier than a thick, reinforced pad.
  • Steel: wire mesh or rebar has to be cut out and separated as it comes up.
  • Carry distance: a slab by the driveway is easier than one behind the house down a hill.
  • Size: concrete is dense, so even a modest slab is a lot of weight.
  • What's next: if you only want the top broken out and the base left, that's less to haul.

The slab left behind by an old shed or garage

A lot of our concrete work starts with another job. The shed comes down and there's a pad underneath. The carport goes and there's a slab nobody wants. We can take the structure and the concrete in one trip, or come back just for the slab if someone else did the tear-down.

Who usually needs concrete hauled

Homeowners who want a garden where a slab used to be. Landlords getting a rental ready, with a broken walk out front that's a trip hazard waiting to happen. People who just bought a place and found a mound of old concrete chunks behind the garage that the last owner never dealt with.

If you're getting a new slab poured, have your concrete contractor tell you how much of the old base they want left. We'll stop where they need us to.
