Light Demolition Contractor in York County, PA
Garages, carports, outbuildings and gutted kitchens taken down, loaded out and swept up by the guy who gave you the price.
Some jobs are too big for a hammer and a Saturday and too small for a wrecking company. That's where we live. As a light demolition contractor working out of York, we take down detached garages, carports, old outbuildings and crumbling garden walls, and we tear out the inside of rooms that are getting redone: cabinets, flooring, drywall, basement framing. Then we load every piece, haul it off and sweep up. William prices it himself, shows up himself and stays on the job. If something is holding up a house, it isn't ours to knock down, and we'll tell you that straight.

What's Included
- Two-person crew, fully insured, in a marked truck
- All the tear-down, lifting, hauling and loading
- Upfront price confirmed before we start, no surprises
- Contents cleared out of the structure if there's stuff inside
- Sweep-up of the area once the debris is gone
- Responsible disposal at licensed transfer stations, with reusable items dropped at donation spots
What We Take
- Detached one- and two-car garages
- Carports, metal or wood
- Old outbuildings, lean-tos and workshop sheds
- Garden walls and short block or stone walls
- Kitchen cabinets and countertops
- Flooring: carpet, vinyl, laminate, tile
- Drywall and plaster walls (non-load-bearing)
- Basement framing and old finished-basement build-outs
How the job goes
- Step 1Text us the job
Send photos of the garage, wall or room to (717) 654-6138 and tell us what has to go and what stays. If the photos leave questions, William will ask to come look.
- Step 2Settle the scope and the price
We agree on where the tear-out stops, whether the slab or footings come out, and what the price is. That number is confirmed before anybody swings anything.
- Step 3Take it down and load it
We take it apart into pieces that can be carried and load them straight onto the truck, so the debris isn't piled on your lawn for a week.
- Step 4Sweep and walk it
We clean up the footprint and walk it with you before we leave.
What light demolition means here
Light demolition is the smaller stuff a two-person crew can take apart and haul away: a garage with a sagging roof, a carport nobody parks under, a cinder-block garden wall leaning toward the neighbor's yard, the old outbuilding behind a property you just bought. It also covers interior tear-outs, which is a separate kind of mess that we handle the same careful way.
It does not mean houses, additions, or anything carrying weight from above. When a wall or beam is load-bearing or structural, that job needs a contractor and engineering before anything comes out. We'll tell you so on the first call rather than find out halfway through.
Interior demolition: kitchens, basements, bathrooms
Redoing a kitchen or a basement starts with somebody tearing the old one out. We pull cabinets and countertops, rip up flooring, take down non-structural drywall and plaster, and strip old basement framing back to the block. You or your contractor get a clean room to start from.
Doing it yourself is possible, but the leftovers add up fast. York County's Small Load Drop-Off takes drywall, plaster, tile and insulation only in limited amounts, two 42-gallon contractor bags per disposal, and lumber has to be cut to 6 feet or less.[1]
Curbside isn't much help either. One large York County hauler's township page says plainly that no construction debris will be collected at the curb.[2]
Which demolition page covers what
This page is the overview. If your job is one specific thing, the page for it goes deeper:
- Shed removal: wood, metal and resin sheds, contents and all.
- Deck removal: rotted or unwanted decks, boards, rails and stairs.
- Barn demolition: pole barns and old wood-frame barns.
- Mobile home demolition: single-wides and double-wides plus their add-ons.
- Patio removal: concrete, paver and flagstone patios.
- Fence removal: wood, chain-link and vinyl, posts included.
- Concrete removal: slabs, walkways, steps and pads.
- Pool removal: above-ground pools and their decks.
- Hot tub removal: drained, cut down and hauled.
Why demo debris is harder to get rid of than it looks
A torn-down garage is mostly lumber, shingles and siding, and the county's drop-off caps each of those. Shingles are limited to one pickup truck or small trailer load per disposal, and siding and lumber have to be cut to 6 feet or less.[1]
Some of it isn't accepted at the Small Load Drop-Off at all: bricks, concrete, metal beams and metal siding, railroad ties, stone and soil. A garden wall or a garage slab falls right into that list, which is a big part of why people hand the whole job to someone else.[1]
What we don't handle
- Load-bearing or structural work that needs a contractor and engineering
- Hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, asbestos, propane tanks)
- Liquids

Pole barns and tired old wood barns taken down, lofts emptied and the debris hauled off.
Old single-wides and double-wides torn down, contents and add-ons included, with the lot cleared for whatever comes next.
Cracked concrete, heaved pavers and wobbly flagstone broken up and hauled away so the backyard is ready for its next life.
Leaning wood, rusty chain-link and cracked vinyl pulled out and hauled away.
Old slabs, cracked walks and leftover pads broken up and hauled out, because the county drop-off won't take concrete.
Torn liner, rusted wall, or just done with it: we take the pool down, haul it all off, and give you your yard back.
Drained, cut down if it has to be, and hauled off, even when it's stuck on a deck, in a sunroom, or down in the basement.
