The liner tears, the wall rusts through at the bottom, the kids move out, and what's left is a big ring of steel and vinyl taking up the best flat spot in the yard. Above ground pool removal is how you get that spot back. We take the pool apart, haul off the walls, liner, frame, ladder, and equipment, and clean up where it stood. Small in-ground pools we'll look at case by case. Send photos, William gives you a price up front, and the two-person crew does the heavy part.

How the job goes
- Step 1Photos of the pool and the yard
Text (717) 654-6138 a few pictures: the whole pool, any deck around it, and the route to the street. Tell us whether it still has water in it.
- Step 2A price before anything comes apart
William confirms the price up front. If you want the deck taken too, it goes into the same quote.
- Step 3Teardown
We pull the liner, take off the top rails and uprights, and break the wall down into pieces that load.
- Step 4Haul and clean up
Steel, vinyl, and equipment all go on the truck, and we clean up the ring where the pool sat.

Why a pool is a different job from a hot tub
People lump these two together, but they come apart in opposite ways. A hot tub is one heavy, compact box. An above-ground pool is the reverse: wide, thin, and spread out over a big footprint. The work is mostly about volume, a long run of steel wall, a liner the size of a living room rug, and a dozen uprights.
The ground under the pool is part of the conversation too. Ask about the sand base or ground cover when you send photos, so we can be clear about what we're taking and what stays.
Where an old pool ends up in York County
A pool breaks down into several different kinds of waste, and the county treats them differently. At York County's Small Load Drop-Off, metal items go to a local scrap yard, while metal siding is not accepted as construction debris.[1][2]
If there's a wood deck around the pool, lumber is accepted there only in lengths of 6 feet or less. Concrete pads and pavers aren't accepted at all.[2]
Pool chemicals are the piece people forget. The Resource Recovery Center won't take them with a regular load, but York County's free spring and fall household hazardous waste events do, with registration required. Lancaster County residents can use LCSWMA's free household hazardous waste facility. Adams County has no county program.[3][4][5][6]

In-ground pools are a bigger, heavier job than anything above ground, and no two are alike. We look at small ones case by case and quote only after we've seen the pool. We'll be straight with you about what's in the price and what isn't, including what happens to the hole.
What we don't handle
- Hazardous waste, including leftover pool chemicals, paint, and propane tanks
- Liquids, including jugs of chlorine and other pool treatments
